Neurotoxicity describes the harmful effects of chemicals on the brain and nervous system.

Neurotoxic chemicals are common in our society, and include pesticides, mold, solvents, metals, formaldehyde, some drugs, polychlorinated biphenyl, and numerous other products and chemicals.

Neurotoxic chemicals can damage the ability to learn, perceive, remember, communicate, function socially, and have a satisfactory personality.

Many people in modern society are to neurotoxic substances. The degree of illness that results will depend upon many factors, including susceptibility, amount of exposure, duration of exposure, peaks of exposure, and multiple exposures to numerous neurotoxic chemicals at the same time.
